Symptom index

What people describe, and what it usually turns out to be.

A rough guide, not a diagnosis. The same symptom has several possible causes — which is exactly why we test before quoting.

01 Fridge not cold Failed start relay, dirty condenser coils, faulty thermostat, low refrigerant charge or a stuck defrost cycle. REF
02 Washer will not spin Worn drive belt, door lock switch, drain pump blockage, motor brushes or an imbalance sensor cutting the cycle short. WSH
03 Water under the machine Perished door gasket, split inlet or drain hose, cracked sump, or a filter housing that was never reseated properly. WSH · DSH
04 Dryer runs but stays damp Blocked lint path or vent, failed heating element, thermal cut-out tripped, or a thermistor reading the drum wrong. DRY
05 Oven heats unevenly Element failing on one side, fan motor slowing, thermostat drifted out of calibration, or a door seal letting heat escape. OVN
06 Microwave turns on, food stays cold Magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor failure, or a door interlock switch stopping the unit from powering the cavity. MWO
07 Appliance trips the breaker Earth leakage from a wet or failed element, damaged cord, moisture in the terminal block, or a shorted motor winding. ALL
08 Panel shows an error code Sensor out of range, communication fault between board and module, or a genuine component failure the board has detected. ALL

Burning smell, sparking or a unit that trips repeatedly — switch it off at the socket, stop using it, and call us before anything else.

How a callout runs

Five stops from your phone call to a working appliance.

Most single-unit repairs finish in one visit. Where a part has to be ordered, we tell you the wait before you commit.

Stop 01

Describe it

Call or message with the brand, model and what the unit is doing. A photo of the rating plate speeds things up.

Stop 02

Book a slot

We confirm a time window that suits you, including evenings and weekends, and give you an arrival call beforehand.

Stop 03

Diagnose on site

The technician tests supply, controls, motor and heating in front of you, then explains what has actually failed.

Stop 04

Quote, then repair

You get parts and labour in writing before any work starts. Approve it and most repairs are done the same visit.

Stop 05

Test and hand back

We run a full cycle with you watching, clean up the work area, and note the warranty period on your invoice.

On the job

Recent callouts around the island.

Add your own photos into the images folder. Shots of the opened unit, the failed part beside the new one, and the finished test cycle work best.
